An exceptional antique Imperial Russian hinged bangle bracelet crafted in 14K gold and bearing the coveted Russian 583 gold hallmark, a mark associated with pre-Revolutionary Russian jewelry. This elegant estate piece showcases richly colored rubies, lustrous natural pearls, sparkling old-cut diamonds, and fine enamel work, embodying the luxurious craftsmanship of the late Imperial Russian period.
The bracelet features a central cabochon ruby measuring approximately 6.3mm, surrounded by natural pearls measuring approximately 3.2mm each. Additional bezel-set faceted rubies measure approximately 2.7mm and provide vibrant color throughout the design. The bracelet is further accented by older single-cut diamonds with an estimated clarity range of I-1 to I-2. Several diamonds exhibit visible cloudiness, and one diamond appears to be a later replacement.
The tongue of the clasp is made from 8k gold, and is marked 333. The rest of the bracelet is 14k.
The enamel decoration remains attractive and displays the character expected from a genuine antique piece. As with many surviving examples of this age, the bracelet shows evidence of wear accumulated over more than a century. The colored gemstones display abrasions and surface wear, and the original safety chain is no longer present.
